Carol has more than 30 years’ experience in administration and sales within the commercial property market. Carol takes care of all the administrative needs of the company, ensures that Mike is on track with the schedule of orders and that an excellent level of customer service is always provided. From the mid 70’s to early 80’s, Mike worked in the family business as a Glassblower of glass tubes for TV’s as well as regunning the TV tubes. When the Japanese introduced flat screen TV’s in early 80’s, this naturally changed the direction of the TV market, so the business was sold in 1982.

Mike had a complete change of direction and became a London cabby. This offered Mike the opportunity to speak with a wide range of people from diverse backgrounds. Mike uses this experience to gain a greater understanding of both people and their needs, with the varied projects he now handles. Mike had always wanted to return to working with glass. Having viewed engraved glass items online Mike was inspired and loved the idea of producing his own, which brought his creativity to the fore. In 2017 having thoroughly researched the marketplace, Mike found The Glass Scribe and Rayzist offered the best equipment, training, products and ongoing support, giving more confidence in starting up his new business. Mike now takes care of artwork, stencil production and sandblasting within the company. “We provide the very best in engraving.  Sandblasted glass and crystal awards to meet your budget and always of the highest quality possible. We also offer printed glass and crystal”

Mike and Carol trade from a purpose built workshop, kitted out with top of the range equipment, which includes a computer for drawing designs and laying out text, (Mike redraws artwork to a high standard and will quote upon sight). A Graphtec Plotter for cutting vinyl, UV exposure for photo-resist stencils, Pressure Pot sandblasting cabinet and Airbrush for infilling engraving with colour. This equipment is used to engrave Glass, Mirrors, Slate, Stone, or as Mike says, “any hard surface that a stencil can be applied to!”

CrystalStone Engraving stock a wide range of glass and crystal which is available through the website shop. If you can’t find what you are looking for on the website please contact Mike, and he will help you find the product that you desire.
